LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese drone maker DJI unveiled a new drone for agriculture here on Tuesday, while its partners in the United States showcased how drone technology transformed productivity.

At the annual AirWorks conference, DJI launched the P4 Multispectral drone, which is believed to be the world's first fully integrated multispectral imaging drone built to power farming and enable an efficient environmental land management.

It is a high-precision drone with a seamlessly integrated multispectral imaging system built for agriculture missions and environmental monitoring, providing a 27-minute max flight and up to seven-km transmission range, according to DJI.

"This year we aim to put our easy-to-use drones in the hands of farmers, agronomists, and land stewards to help manage their lands in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way," said Mario Rebello, DJI's vice president and regional manager in North America.

The three-day conference is drawing about 700 attendees and would offer 60 educational workshops spanning the five core industries -- agriculture, construction, energy, infrastructure and public safety.

DJI's partners in the United States demonstrated at the conference how they are applying DJI drones into their own industries. Microsoft showed how organizations can use Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud technology to streamline secure deployment of DJI drone fleets.

Also, the Los Angeles Fire Department showed how it is using DJI drones to make hot-spot identification and aerial mapping for wildfire response, as well as incident response for swift water rescues, hazmat operations, and urban search and rescue missions.

According to Skylogic Research, a drone analyst company, the Chinese drone manufacturer holds more than 70 percent of the worldwide civil drone market share.
